Gifting just got better.
Scope: Brand Identity + Web Platform
Connectagift is an alternative to gifting which eliminates wasted time, money and gifts. The process is thoughtful and meaningful, and enables friends and family to contribute towards a much-wished-for gift without feeling uncomfortable.
Connectagift’s founder, Jan, had a vision for a web platform that was simple, clean and user-friendly. And together, we brought the vision to life.
I am so happy! A little idea has now developed into a beautiful website.
I really could not be any happier. You have both done an amazing job. I appreciate your patience with me and your understanding of what I wanted to achieve.
I am so very grateful for all your work, ideas and support.

After the initial project brief and conversations with the client, we realised the challenge of building a web platform from the ground up was bigger than expected. It would prove to be a four month project, with countless emails, Dropbox messages and iterations.
We began the project by developing a mood board that encompassed the overall feel of the brand identity and website – including colours, patterns, imagery and typography.
Once a direction was agreed upon, we created a logo, colour palette, and some initial website mockups which helped to refine our typography choices.
The next step was to create wireframes to work out the flow of the website and solve any problems users might encounter when interacting with the site. The wireframes were refined many times as we began to think through the complexity of various user roles.
Having settled on the wireframes, the design and front-end development was fairly straight-forward. We worked directly in the browser, so our client could see the progress as it happened, and could provide immediate feedback.
The most pleasing part of the project was being able to use our fundraising plugin, Charitable, to power the site – with some custom functionality added. The ability to create Events, gift money, and send automated emails, are all enabled by Charitable.
Asana: We used Asana for the first time during this project. It proved to be an excellent tool to manage tasks and gain feedback from team members.
Dropbox: We used Dropbox to present concepts, wireframes, and mockups to the client. The ability to comment on designs, and tag people in conversations made it easy to gain feedback and iterate quickly.
